LUNNA is the name given by the Dagomba people of West Africa to a small percussion instrument also known as the Tama or “talking drum”. This small instrument worn under the arm is both percussive and melodic, it was used as a means of communication between tribes and was used by the griots to carry the word of the kings.

Lively and dynamic, LUNNA opens the door to the world of JMR column speakers. His speech, both rhythmic and singing, is in keeping with his name. Elle communique avec beaucoup d’agilité la rythmique et les nuances mélodiques de toutes les musiques actuelles ou classiques.

LUNNA

Equally at ease with “pop” music as with concerts or great music, this modern loudspeaker meets all the qualitative criteria and personality of a current JMR loudspeaker.

Accessible to most people, it already embodies all the magic and philosophy of the brand’s column speakers.

Imagined and designed by the creator of the brand’s greatest models, LUNNA has been subjected to the same attention and optimization work as its predecessors and uses the proven and durable technologies of the most ambitious models in the range.

The results obtained during the studies on this small column are particularly impressive. The homogeneity, the extent and the linearity of its bandwidth, its impulse response and its extremely neat phase curve, allow it to reach performances in coherence with the most successful products of our range.

LUNNA will easily feed your living space by offering a vast and deep sound image, out of proportion to its small size. Thanks to its sober and timeless design, it will be very easy to integrate in any interior, whether modern or classic. Its very compact dimensions allow an easy implementation in rooms with average or modest dimensions (from 12 m²). It is a product that is ideal for urban environments.

All in all, LUNNA offers an embodied, rich and very dynamic sound and will allow you to build a reproduction set that is both musical and affordable, bringing you right into the JMR sound universe.

LOADING PRINCIPLE:

Tuned triangular line leading to a vent located on the front of the cabinet allowing a positioning close to the rear wall (40 cm minimum). Absence of internal parallel walls reducing the formation of standing waves and allowing the use of a minimum of absorbent material.
Tweeter installed in an insulated volume guaranteeing a total inertia and avoiding any mechanical-acoustic intermodulation with the woofer.
Cabinetry in 19 mm MDF assembled under press. Rounded vertical edges on the front avoiding edge effects, wide fillet on the top rear horizontal edge in line with the style of the current range.
Adhesive felt surrounding the loudspeakers to minimize early signal reflections on the cabinet and thus ensure better directivity control.

FILTERING:

2 ½ ways,
6 – 12/12 dB/octave. Cut-off frequencies at 300 and 2800 Hz. Carefully selected audiophile quality components.

LOUDSPEAKERS :

BOOMER/MEDIUM :
All new 13 cm manufactured under JMR specifications derived from the one used for the EUTERPE and the BLISS Jubilé. It uses a long fiber paper cone. The back of this optimized profile cone receives an absorbent treatment that improves its internal damping while retaining the universally recognized tonal qualities of the paper. It has a 30 mm coil on a ventilated aluminium support giving it a good power handling and a powerful and fast bass. Its core uses a copper ring to linearize its impedance and significantly reduce its harmonic distortion rate. Its rubber suspension receives an absorbent treatment on a portion of its profile in connection with the cone to improve its behavior in the full medium. It has an aluminum bowl whose profile perfectly clears the back of the cone. His speeder is ventilated.

TWEETER :
Textile dome tweeter using a 25 mm coil and a neodymium magnet in a small chamber tuned for a low resonance frequency of 650 Hz. It has a very wide and particularly linear response curve, and its directionality is not very pronounced and very progressive off axis. It has an injected ABS front panel with a pavilion profile for better performance and optimal directivity. This tweeter offers a very nice dynamic range and a lot of detail without dryness or harshness, qualities that are essential to meet the musical specifications of a JMR speaker.

STRONG POINT OF USE :

Thanks to a very low directivity, you can enjoy LUNNA without a complex set-up within its environment. This great quality means that you don’t need to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point to get the most out of its performance. The LUNNAs can be pinched very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.

The spacing will be determined experimentally. In theory, the ideal distance is about 2 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced or increased depending on the acoustic conditions and the dimensions of the listening room. To achieve a deep, well-built stereo image, make sure that the speakers are at least 40 cm away from the side and rear walls.
These loudspeakers are supplied with chrome-plated steel decoupling tips and tailpieces. The inserts on the cabinetry are in M6.
