In keeping with our traditions, we wanted to develop a small, very affordable but also very musical speaker, offering realistic timbres and a very good spectral balance.
We've optimized its performance so that it can be used as a true bookshelf speaker on a shelf or even a desk.

It offers a warm sound articulated around a rich medium and a very silky treble without projection or hardness. Its energy is sufficient to fill a room of 10 to 20 m² with a very lively and embodied music.
Designed to work in conjunction with affordable electronics, its electroacoustic characteristics make it very easy for amplifiers to load.

Its installation will not require any special precautions, as it can be installed near a wall thanks to its front laminar vent.
It offers a beautiful stereophonic image, credible and very stable thanks to a very good phasing of its components.

It allows you to enter the rich and lively world of JMR sound.

ACOUSTIC CHAMBER :

Bass-reflex loading principle leading to a front laminar vent.
Medite of 19 mm. Rounded edges on the front avoiding edge effects. Large adhesive felt on its front face to difract at best the first reflections on the cabinet around the speakers.
Pressed assembly guarantees a total inertia of the structure.

WOOFER :

French speaker using a treated paper cone.

TWEETER :

Hand-assembled crossover without printed circuit board using polypropylene capacitors and a ferrite coil for the bass with a 1 mm copper cable section guaranteeing a fast bass and low distortion. Internal wiring in pure copper of 0.8 mm section for the tweeter and 1 mm for the bass.

USE ADVICE:

Thanks to the low directivity, it is not necessary to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point, pinching them very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.
It can be installed on a stand of about 50 cm in height or placed directly on a shelf or desk.
The spacing will be determined experimentally. In theory, it is ideal to have a distance of about 1.5 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced or increased (min. 1 m, max. 2.5 m). Thanks to its front laminar vent, LUCIA can be installed close to the rear wall without being completely leaning against it, a distance of 10 to 15 cm is recommended.

FOLIAJUBILE

Its loading principle allows to use almost no absorber, so the last octaves are of a beautiful legibility and there is no feeling of constriction or even buzzing often present when using a small volume.

Designed to be hung on the wall or leaning against it, it will give even more substance and energy to the low register. The laterally positioned and mirrored vents diffuse a complementary and very homogeneous sound field in the low-midrange register, the presence of the wall behind them will not disturb the readability in this portion of the spectrum.

The stereophonic image is stable and precise and opens wide even beyond the speakers, a sign of a rigorous phasing of all components.

The latest optimizations made to this Jubilee version have allowed us to further improve the performance of this endearing little speaker. Thus the use of an aluminum bowl, more rigid than the ABS one, allowed us to improve the impulse response and thus the dynamics. The phase piece on its tweeter improves its directivity and linearity. The large felt on its front side diffracts the first reflections on the cabinet and improves the quality of the sound image.

We took the opportunity to modernize its aesthetics and give it a more upscale character thanks to the rounded fields of its front face as well as the large-diameter rounded edges of its rear horizontal edges. Finally, it is now offered in two finishes: satin black and a beautiful three-coat pearl white lacquer.

FOLIAJUBILE should make the happiness of the amateurs of alive music looking for a sound without artifice nor caricature with refined timbres. It will provide hours of listening without fatigue or weariness and in every way true to the sound philosophy of Jean Marie Reynaud products.

ACOUSTIC CHAMBER :

Asymmetrically coupled and tuned dual cavity system with a mirrored side port for the pair. This load allows the use close or against a wall. Asymmetrical load volume limiting parallel surfaces in the cabinetry and allowing the use of a strict minimum of absorbent, thus preserving the naturalness and transparency of the system. Tweeter in the center of the cabinet for an even dispersion of the signal in the vertical and horizontal planes. The addition of a large felt surrounding the loudspeakers diffracts the first reflections of the signal around the loudspeakers, thus significantly improving the off-axis phase behavior. Medite of 19 mm. Rounded front edges to avoid edge effects. Pressed assembly guarantees a total inertia of the structure.

The BLISS Jubilee follows the concept inaugurated by the BLISS Silver, which was the first in its time to benefit from a strict and rigorous matching of all its components. BLISSJUBILÉ

The BLISS Jubilee is based on a completely new development. The stylistic codes of the Jubilee range can be seen again with large fillets on the rear horizontal edges and rounded edges on the front side that minimize edge effects. Thanks to the use of the golden ratio, the proportions of its cabinetry are more harmonious, it is immediately much more attractive.

Technically sophisticated, it is equipped with the EUTERPE Jubilee drivers: the new 17cm woofer and the excellent 28mm impregnated silk dome tweeter.

Free of any coloration or "box sound" it offers an extremely lively, embodied sound, with a beautiful luminosity without any projection effect or hardness. Its sound image is wide, deep and stable, proof of a careful and very rigorous phasing.

The axial fixing by pressure of its boomer allows to bring back the mechanical reference of the mobile equipment at the back of the enclosure. This principle significantly improves the impulse response of the system. The middle register is more open, more articulate and free of all the artifacts linked to the coupling of the boomer with the supporting baffle.

Its 12db/octave filtering is made by hand with our best components:

-Silver armature capacitors with marked winding direction, they are specifically made for JMR and use JMR HP1132 silver/copper cable terminations.
-Very low resistance air coil using a 1mm deoxygenated pure copper cable.
Non-inductive wound resistors.
-Internal connections entirely made with our JMR HP1132 silver/copper cable.
Wiring "in the air" (components directly soldered to each other without the use of printed circuit boards to minimize insertion losses) hand-assembled on anti-resonant support.

All components are measured, sorted and matched with a tolerance of 1% in order to obtain perfectly identical performance. From then on, the sound image and timbres are perfectly coherent and the phasing is optimal.

In order to optimize its performance in terms of bandwidth and sound image, it should be associated with the Magic Stand II. The long hours of listening necessary to its optimization and thus to validate its development were carried out on these supports.

The BLISS Jubilee will please music lovers who are concerned with a fair sound, without coloration or ostentation, and who desire a frank dynamic, very nuanced, refined and varied timbre. Very easy to feed thanks to its very regular impedance curve never going below 4 Ohms, it offers a very satisfactory performance. You should not hesitate to associate it with high quality electronics in order to obtain very "jubilant" musical performances. They will then easily feed the listening room with a "great sound", well structured, very homogeneous and with a nice density.

LOADING PRINCIPLE:

It is based on the loading principle developed for the Supreme Offering, a device using 4 coupled cavities with progressive damping leading to a front laminar vent. This proprietary charging principle significantly improves the system’s group propagation time.
Mechanical tensioning of the boomer thanks to a stainless steel threaded rod (non-magnetic) passing through the cabinet from one side to the other, resting on the boomer head and on the bottom of the cabinet. The tension is adjusted with a high-precision torque wrench to ensure the same tightening torque. This axial mounting of the bass driver allows for tensioning of the cabinet walls and ensures evenly distributed mechanical forces between the loudspeaker basket and the supporting baffle, which dramatically improves the transient response of the system.

FILTERING:

Cells at 12dB/octave. Air coils wound with deoxygenated pure copper cable of 1.2mm diameter ensuring a dynamic without settling. Silver armature capacitors sorted in pairs with a tolerance of 1%. Non-inductive coil resistors.
Cut-off frequency 2800 Hz. Wiring “in the air” to reduce insertion loss and using our HP1132 silver cable. The whole filter is assembled on a specific anti-vibration support. It is positioned as far as possible from any magnetic and vibratory disturbance. WBT type terminal block accepting any type of connection (fork, banana or bare cable) on aluminum plate.

HIGH SPEAKERS

BOOMER :

170 mm long fiber paper cone with Gaussian profile, treated on the inside with an extremely effective absorbent material. Flexible and inert polypropylene core cover. It has a 30 mm coil on a ventilated aluminum support, its aluminum frame clears the back of the cone perfectly. Its speeder is also ventilated to allow a better cooling of the coil and thus to lower significantly its distortion rate. It is equipped with a double magnet to increase the concentration of the magnetic flux on the coil. The suspension is made of a rubber-foam compound and has a progressive profile to achieve a very good return force in the extreme low frequencies while preserving the micro-displacements necessary for midrange reproduction.

TWEETER :

The latter is none other than the one proudly displayed by our CANTABILEJUBILE model. A 28 mm impregnated silk dome tweeter particularly powerful. Its directionality is naturally very low, which allowed us to stop using a phase piece. Its linearity is exemplary and its internal damping optimal. It is driven by a powerful neodymium magnet, its very low resonance frequency allows us a cut-off frequency at 2800 Hz in 12 dB/octave. It is fixed with a specific glue to a machined aluminum horn for a better mechanical reference and to further improve its directivity and efficiency.

USE ADVICE:

Thanks to the low directivity, it is not necessary to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point, but to pinch them very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.

The spacing will be determined experimentally. In theory, the ideal distance is about 2.5m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced or increased depending on the acoustic conditions and the dimensions of the listening room. In order to obtain a deep and well-built stereophonic image, make sure that the speakers are at least 40cm away from the side and rear walls.

*The best results in spectral balance and musicality were obtained by using our HP1132 cable, the same one used for the internal connection of all system components.
To optimize its performance in terms of bandwidth and sound image, it should be combined with the Magic Stand II. The long hours of listening necessary to its optimization and thus to validate its development were carried out on these supports.

LUNNA will easily feed your living space by offering a vast and deep sound image, out of proportion to its small size. Thanks to its sober and timeless design, it will be very easy to integrate in any interior, whether modern or classic. All new 13 cm manufactured under JMR specifications derived from the one used for the EUTERPE and the BLISS Jubilé. It uses a long fiber paper cone. The back of this optimized profile cone receives an absorbent treatment that improves its internal damping while retaining the universally recognized tonal qualities of the paper. It has a 30 mm coil on a ventilated aluminium support giving it a good power handling and a powerful and fast bass. Its core uses a copper ring to linearize its impedance and significantly reduce its harmonic distortion rate. Its rubber suspension receives an absorbent treatment on a portion of its profile in connection with the cone to improve its behavior in the full medium. It has an aluminum bowl whose profile perfectly clears the back of the cone. His speeder is ventilated.

TWEETER :
Textile dome tweeter using a 25 mm coil and a neodymium magnet in a small chamber tuned for a low resonance frequency of 650 Hz. It has a very wide and particularly linear response curve, and its directionality is not very pronounced and very progressive off axis. It has an injected ABS front panel with a pavilion profile for better performance and optimal directivity. This tweeter offers a very nice dynamic range and a lot of detail without dryness or harshness, qualities that are essential to meet the musical specifications of a JMR speaker.

STRONG POINT OF USE :

Thanks to a very low directivity, you can enjoy LUNNA without a complex set-up within its environment. This great quality means that you don’t need to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point to get the most out of its performance. The LUNNAs can be pinched very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.

The spacing will be determined experimentally. In theory, the ideal distance is about 2 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced or increased depending on the acoustic conditions and the dimensions of the listening room. To achieve a deep, well-built stereo image, make sure that the speakers are at least 40 cm away from the side and rear walls.

Like the ABSCISSEJUBILÉ, the EUTERPE has undergone a profound redesign, everything is technically new in this floorstanding loudspeaker that retains the same proportions, but adopts new drivers and a new filtering.

EUTERPEJUBILÉ

We took advantage of this technical redesign to apply the new styling codes of the Jubilee range with a wide fillet on its horizontal rear edge, which refines its silhouette advantageously.

As usual, it is by a patient study in laboratory, associated with long hours of comparative listening, that we were able to improve very appreciably the whole of its electroacoustic parameters of the EUTERPEJUBILE.

We started from a blank page for its conception. We wanted to keep its loading principle and its volume, but we replaced its midrange/bass driver and its tweeter and completely revised its crossover.

The results are beyond our expectations and set a new standard in this product category. Its listening is even more alive, much more luminous, particularly homogeneous, with rich and varied timbres, it develops a very wide, deep and stable stereophonic image. Its extreme bass is very articulated and of a very beautiful density getting frank feelings of impact with a very good behaviour. The listening seems perfectly fluid, without rupture on the whole spectrum, with a true sense of analysis. It opens astonishing perspectives to the listening and exceeds by far its predecessor on the whole of the technical criteria, but especially musical.

Truly versatile, the EUTERPEJUBILE will delight music lovers of all kinds of music by providing hours and hours of fatigue-free listening. It distills with ease a musicality of the highest order and in every respect in line with the philosophy of the most ambitious models in our current range.

Fluidity, nuance, refinement, spontaneity and agility characterize this compact speaker, with its sober and timeless design.
Its slim silhouette, with its small head overhanging its gracefully proportioned cabinetry, is characteristic of certain JMR productions.

Thanks to the research and development work carried out in recent years in advanced acoustic and electronic fields, we have been able to achieve musical performances unimaginable a few years ago. The CANTABILE Jubilee has benefited from the results of this research, which has enabled it to achieve a remarkable level of realism and sound maturity.
Thus, we have completely revised its crossover, and we have equipped the speaker with a brand new tweeter particularly powerful. This impregnated silk dome tweeter is housed in a new load with an optimized profile. The diameter of the nose cone has been significantly increased, and it is positioned further back on the cabinet to allow for ultra-precise dynamic phasing. Its length has been increased, and the curve of its profile has been softened.
The very low resonance frequency of this tweeter and its very low distortion rate allowed us to lower the connection frequency with the bass-midrange speaker to 3 kHz. The slope of its 12 dB/octave filtering offers a crossover with the midrange at only 0.2° phase rotation, and its directivity is particularly low.
The filtering has been done with as few components as possible, making the CANTABILE Jubilee much more responsive and even easier to power.
The entire value of the components, as well as their nature, has been revised in order to obtain an even more lively and dynamic speaker.

Although its size is ultra-compact for a floorstanding speaker, the CANTABILE Jubilee offers a particularly full, wide and deep sound image, and a formidable precision. It extends not only in width, but also in height and depth, far beyond the geometry of the enclosure. It remains unperturbed, even at the time of the very great variations of levels, without any projection nor hardness, but all in light and nuances.
The tiny inflections of the musician's playing follow naturally without false light. The transients are vivid and precise, but never stripped of their complex harmonic envelope.
The veracity and humanity of the CANTABILE's middle register have always been noted by discerning music lovers. In this Jubilee version, the CANTABILE retains what has made it successful over the years, but with even more fluidity and airiness. The rich and varied timbres are truly natural, and never outrageous; one clearly perceives this feeling of "déjà entendu" that only the "live" event is capable of providing.
Its fast and perfectly controlled bass never turns into caricature or redundancy. It settles perfectly the listening, and proposes a sufficient energy for a room of average size.
Its bandwidth is extremely linear, and above all, it offers a remarkable homogeneity for a speaker of its size.

As agile and alert on a string quartet as on contemporary music, the CANTABILE Jubilee offers its listener hours of listening without weariness or fatigue. Its generous output will allow it to be associated with quality amplifiers, but not necessarily powerful. ACOUSTIC CHAMBER :

Load type: Tuned triangular line leading to a front noise vent.
Cabinetry in 19 mm MDF with rounded edges, assembled under press to guarantee a total inertia to the structure.
The axial fixing of the bass drivers allows the tensioning of the cabinet walls, and ensures uniformly distributed mechanical forces between the loudspeaker basket and the baffle support, which dramatically improves the transient response of the system.
The use of internal viscoelastic absorbers transforms the vibratory energy into heat, without loss of micro-information.

BOOMERS/MEDIUM :

2 × 130 mm. Zamak bowl, flat and airy spider, ventilated double magnet, carbon/kevlar non-woven hypergraphic cone, anti-vortex ogive for the midrange, suspension with high return power and high damping for powerful and fast bass.
25 mm moving coil on kapton support.
Mechanical tensioning by means of a stainless steel threaded rod bolted to the center of the magnetic core and to the bottom of the cabinet.

TWEETER :

All new 28 mm dome tweeter in impregnated silk, ensuring a very linear response and a real dynamic range of the highest order (fine dynamics reproduced with great accuracy and large level differences very well respected, without projections or hardness). Double neodymium magnet, non-ferrofluid air gap. Tuned rear chamber ensures a very low resonance frequency (700 Hz) and perfect transient damping. Front panel with machined aluminum bell mouth to ensure a perfectly stable mechanical reference for the ultra-light mobile crew. Very little directionality and very regular ensuring a very nice energy off axis. Very low distortion rate, typically less than 0.05% between 3 kHz and 25 kHz.

Turned solid beech head with a geometry that optimizes the polar coordinates of the loudspeaker, it rests on an oblong spacer for a three-point connection to the main cabinet to avoid any micro-displacement.

Optimized tweeter positioning in height and depth to ensure precise dynamic phasing at the connection with the bass/midrange at 3 kHz. The temporal response is thus exact, the fundamental and the harmonics being reconstituted in perfect time concordance. The accuracy of the timbres is thus perfectly respected, and their fluidity is remarkable.

Type of filtering: 2 ½ ways: 6 – 12 -12 dB / octave. First and second order.

BOOMER :

Low pass 600 Hz at 6 dB/octave

MEDIUM/BOOMER :

Low pass at 3000 Hz at 12dB/octave no bass filtering. The two bass drivers work in parallel and in phase below 600 Hz.

TWEETER :

The high pass filter at 3000 Hz at 12dB/octave.

RC circuit (capacitor resistor) in order to linearize the impedance curve of the speakers, and minimize the impedance variations seen by the amp on the whole spectrum.

Hand-assembled filter without printed circuit board, components are oriented and soldered with silver solder directly to each other to avoid any insertion loss. They are glued on a plate of anti-vibration material, and are placed as far as possible from any electromagnetic disturbance.
Components sorted by pair with a tolerance of 1%.

Silver armature capacitors with HP1132 silver/copper cable termination marking the winding direction of the silver foil. Self à air sur support ferrite à faible résistance ohmique utilisant un câble cuivre désoxygéné de forte section, pour un grave rapide et sans tassement de dynamique. Non-inductive ceramic resistors with high current carrying capacity.

All internal wiring is done by our HP1132 cable (crossover component connections, capacitor terminations and direct connection to the loudspeaker, soldered directly to the terminals); the HP 1132 cable is made of a large crystal silver/copper alloy. It has three layers of insulation, a first layer of Kapton coating and a second layer of wrapped Teflon before an outer sheath of polyamide. This top-of-the-range cable allows a very beautiful richness of the timbres, combined with a great transparency and a perfect linearity on the whole audible spectrum.

ADVICE FOR USE :

Thanks to a very low directivity, it is not necessary to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point, pinching them very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.

The spacing will be determined experimentally. It is ideal theory around 2.5 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced. To achieve a deep, well-built stereo image, make sure the speakers are at least 50 cm away from the side and rear walls.

The best results in spectral balance and musicality were obtained by using our HP216B cable, the same one used for the internal connection of all system components.

It offers a very nice range in the extreme bass while remaining very dynamic and articulate. Its middle register is very open, clear, delicate, but also varied and very rich.

It fades away physically to make room for a very wide, very stable and deep sound stage. The details of a sound recording, the geometric proportions of an acoustic are read with ease, without false light, letting the backgrounds express themselves with great freedom. Its fast and particularly well articulated bass allows ABSCISSE Jubilé to be installed in any type of room, even small ones, with a constant and perfectly controlled energy.
It is resolutely modern in form and spirit, fast, transparent, reactive to the slightest request, without ever betraying the substance and richness of the complex sonorities of all music. Its exterior is very sculptural, anchored in its time and subtly modernized in this new Jubilee version.

ACOUSTIC CHAMBER :

Tuned triangular line, front noise vent.
Medite of 19 mm. Rounded edges on the front avoiding edge effects. Its cabinetry is modernized with a large diameter fillet on the top rear edge overhanging vertical sharp edges
Pressed assembly guarantees a total inertia of the structure.
Its air-striction tweeter is partially detached and decoupled from the cabinet by means of a damping joint. The profile of the head hosting this tweeter has been reviewed and softened. The connection between this turned wood head and the cabinet that supports it is decoupled by a viscoelastic compound in order to avoid the transmission of vibratory energy to the tweeter.
The axial fixing of the boomers allows the tensioning of the walls of the cabinet and ensures
evenly distributed between the loudspeaker basket and the baffle support, which improves
dramatically the transient response of the system.
We also reviewed the overall stiffness of the cabinetry and experimentally arranged
numerous viscoelastic compound surfaces. This avoids as much as possible the use of absorbent foam in the cabinet, which is always detrimental to the good articulation of the sound message in the lower midrange and upper bass. The use of internal viscoelastic absorbent transforms the vibratory energy into heat without loss of micro information.
The underside of the enclosure in connection with the base is also covered with a damping bitumen seal to decouple the enclosure from its spiked base.
Decoupling by height-adjustable metal cones.

WOOFERS/MEDIUM :

It uses two new 14 cm bass-midrange drivers using a new cone structure technology
Pressed carbon sandwich enclosing a liquid crystal fiber.
Its cones are said to be “finished” or pure cones with a Gaussian profile, they are not pierced by the 38 mm coil that drives them. Their suspension beads are made from a rubber/foam mixture and are treated on a portion of the surface in connection with the cone with a damping material. Their motor receives a copper ring allowing to linearize the impedance until the end of the band in the high medium. Their flat speeder is airy. Their ultra rigid salad bowl is made of Zamac.
Thanks to its long coil, the X-max of this speaker (its linear displacement capacity) is +/- 5mm which allows a pure piston work until the extreme low register with a very good power handling.

TWEETER :

Type AMT or AST (aerostriction) extremely powerful and natural. This tweeter uses a particularly quiet and non-aggressive silicon crossover. Its frequency response is extremely
linear and its horizontal directivity is very weak. It offers a legibility and a fluidity of the treble quite exceptional with a very great dynamic reactivity without distortion and a very good power handling. Its aluminum roof is machined in the mass. It is partially covered with a very thin acoustic foam in order to control the first reflections around its diaphragm and thus to limit the phase accidents off axis.

FILTERING:

2 ways 1/2
It has been completely revised and simplified to the maximum. The slopes of this filter are 6db/octave at 350 hz in low pass for the bottom speaker (the two speakers working together and in phase below this frequency and the top speaker is not filtered in the bass) and 12db at 2800 hz between the medium and the tweeter.
This filtering is housed in a separate cavity at the bottom of the enclosure and shielded with bitumen to avoid any
vibratory transmission to the filter components and minimizes microphonic effects and intermodulations.
The two bass/midrange and tweeter cells are separate and are themselves acoustically shielded from each other. The assembly of these cells is entirely handmade on plates of anti-vibration materials and are wired “in the air” (all components are oriented and soldered directly to each other without the use of printed circuit with a silver solder ROHS). It uses silver-armatured capacitors terminated by our HP1132 cable whose direction of winding is marked, the chokes of the bass cell are on a ferrite support using a copper cable with a large cross-sectional area for a very low ohmic resistance and a very low distortion rate. All components are sorted and matched with a tolerance of 1% to ensure a perfect match of electrical characteristics on the speaker pair.

Efficiency: 90 db/W/m 2.83 V

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

Thanks to a very low directivity, it is not necessary to converge both speakers to the ideal listening point, just pinch them very slightly in order to take full advantage of the system phase.
The spacing will be determined experimentally. In theory, it is ideal to have a distance of about 2 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced. In order to obtain a deep and well-built stereophonic image, make sure that the speakers are at least 40 cm away from the side and rear walls.
The best results in spectral balance and musicality were obtained by using our HP1132 bi-wiring cable, the same one used for the internal connection of all system components.

Developed patiently and with great rigor, the ORFEO in this Jubilee version is the quintessence of JMR know-how.

Extremely linear and generating a signal of a constant density whatever the register, it distils with a real ease a subtle musicality, without caricature, and very nuanced. Equally at ease with small acoustic ensembles as with the telluric loads of a symphony orchestra, it gives the impression of serenity coming from a system without limits.

The ORFEOJUBILE is not an improvement of the Supreme V2 version but a complete new development around the same concept. A relatively compact 2.5 way loudspeaker with a very high level of timbre and energy.

All the technical elements have been revised: Load, speakers, filtering and even its aesthetics. We find the silhouette of this new Jubilee line with a large fillet on the rear horizontal edge of the cabinet. It is also slightly more voluminous to match the tuning of its new perfectly optimized acoustic load and tuned even lower. The harmonic richness that characterizes JMR products is perfectly respected, without exaggeration and without sacrificing the transparency and immediacy necessary for a good reading of the musical message. The interpretation of a work, even a very complex one, becomes surprisingly easy to understand and listening is effortless, quite natural. Technically very sophisticated it was as usual sharpened and validated by long hours of listening. This makes it possible, where measurement no longer shows anything, to optimize its performance even better, bearing in mind that a system, however elaborate it may be, must above all be a true vector of emotions.

Thanks to its very good efficiency and the exemplary linearity of its impedance curve, the ORFEOJUBILE is easy to feed. However, it requires very well made electronics with well dimensioned power supplies in order to take full advantage of its very nice vivacity and its impressive dynamic capacities. Although it has a very wide frequency response in the low end of the spectrum, the ORFEOJUBILE is easy to position, even in a relatively small room. The proportions of its geometry and its extremely meticulous finish make it a precious object that can be easily integrated into any interior, whether classic or contemporary.

EBENISTERIE :

The proprietary acoustic load at our realizations has been rethought and optimized in its profile, but still remains a triangular line tuned in ¼ wave leading to a front vent at the foot of the speaker.
This new version of our triangular line allows us to use almost no absorbent in the line itself. Only the dividing wall is covered by a small amount of thin acoustic foam and a ring of honeycomb foam acts as an acoustic diode on the back of the speaker cones. There are no sorbents to impede the flow of air through the load. Thus, the signal propagation speed in the line is much faster and the group propagation time of the system is greatly improved. In order to better control the vibratory phenomena, we have lined a large part of the internal surfaces of the cabinet with bitumen and viscoelastic compound positioned in an experimental manner at strategic points.

The tweeter is housed in a piece of solid wood that has been turned partially and is decoupled from the upper surface of the cabinet by means of a bitumen seal.
The whole cabinet rests on a base which is decoupled by a viscoelastic compound joint and placed on adjustable spikes with counter spikes.

HIGH SPEAKERS

TWEETER :
AST type tweeter (aerostriction) :
It consists of a pleated diaphragm 25 mm wide by 60 mm high, whose silicone support is covered with a very thin film of extremely light avionics-type aluminum. This diaphragm is traversed by an aluminum greek and the whole is surrounded by two neodymium bars of very strong power. Its operating principle is the same as that of the Heil or AMT transformer, but it has the particularity of using a diaphragm that is perfectly devoid of its own resonance. Unlike AMTs using KAPTON for their diaphragm, this one is very smooth while being informative and fast. Unlike a conventional ribbon tweeter that pushes air in front of it, the aerostriction tweeter pinches the air between its folds and expels it with a very high velocity. The dynamics is thus much greater (on the large differences of level as on the very small nuances…).
It is not very fragile, has a very high power handling and a much lower distortion rate than the ribbon, especially at the end of the band, where its displacements are the most important. It can thus be used much lower in frequency than a ribbon while using a less steep filtering slope. Moreover, its impedance curve is perfectly straight and it does not have a marked resonance frequency. Finally, its horizontal directivity is extremely low. As it works as a dipole, it is essential to associate a small closed load behind it which must be tuned experimentally and which is damped by a specific extremely airy felt.

BOOMER/MEDIUM :

BOOMER/MEDIUM :

These new 180mm HPs were developed in collaboration with a German company that only works on OEM products. We had already collaborated on the CANTABILEJUBILE tweeter which, for me, is probably the best textile dome tweeter I have heard.
It took almost a year and a half of work on several prototypes to finalize the study of this extremely powerful HP.
Its cone is made of 7 layers of carbon fiber and PEEK (Polyetheretherketone). This structure is particularly long and complex to achieve, because each layer must be produced with a very precise drying time to allow the whole to be as homogeneous as possible. This cone receives a plasma treatment on its external surface (granular) which avoids the formation of standing waves. This cone combines great lightness with good rigidity, but above all excellent internal damping. The cone of a loudspeaker is a clever combination of rigidity and internal damping capacity to avoid the resonances specific to the material used. On this particular point, we have achieved particularly satisfactory results.
This cone is driven by a 37 mm coil on two layers of 16 mm long on a ventilated fiberglass support, this support receives a surface treatment in order to dampen its own resonance frequency as much as possible. A ring of plasma-treated material is placed on the field of the coil support, again to prevent the coil support material from manifesting itself acoustically.
The air gap has a pure copper ring to linearize the impedance of the loudspeaker at the end of the band and to reduce its distortion by improving the concentration of the magnetic flux around the coil.
Its speeder is airy and has a progressive profile to allow a movement with a constant return force whatever the amplitude of its movement.
This boomer has a double ferrite magnet of 100 mm with double control ring and has a very strong magnetic field.
The NBR rubber suspensions have an optimized profile in terms of their curvature in order to obtain a progressive splitting and to maximize the efficiency of the return according to the distance of displacement of the mobile equipment.
Its bowl is made of aluminum and clears the back of the cone.
Its core is drilled, but receives a damping treatment consisting of several disks of oriented microphonic felt.
A fabric dome impregnated with a specific treatment on its inner side covers the coil and is glued to the cone with a latex-based adhesive.
These loudspeakers are tensioned as usual, thanks to stainless steel threaded rods that come to push the breech of the speaker and are tensioned on the back wall of the cabinet. This principle brings the mechanical reference of the loudspeaker to the back of the cabinet and ensures a better distribution of mechanical stress on the front of the cabinet. It improves the transient operation of the HP by stabilizing its mechanical reference. This results in a midrange that is free of all distortions related to the micro-displacement of the speaker motor and a much faster and better damped impulse response.

FILTERING:

It has been the subject of much attention and a very long period of optimization. During 6 months, I compared and tried different filter configurations, but also different types and brands of components in order to retain only the best. These components are extremely qualitative and therefore particularly expensive. These tests were carried out with the measurement of course, but also and especially with the listening in order to select those which, beyond what could show the work of laboratory, showed themselves the most powerful with the listening.
As usual, I wanted to reduce the number of these components as much as possible to obtain a speaker that is easy to power. No resonant circuit or plug circuit. Only the components necessary for the realization of the 6/12/12 dB/octave filtering are used.
This is a 2.5-way configuration, with the two bass-midrange drivers working in tandem and in phase below 400 Hz, where the bass driver is connected in 6 dB/octave. The top speaker is dedicated to the mid/bass and is connected at 3500 hz with the tweeter and is not filtered in the bass.
This filter consists of two separate cells, oriented and separated from each other to avoid intermodulation of components.
We use silver armature capacitors with HP1132 (silver/copper) cable termination. The winding orientation is marked and they are specific to our use (manufactured under specifications by a French company S.C.R).
The chokes are made of large pure copper strips, wound around a solid wood mandrel and encased in wax to prevent unwanted radiation and intermodulation. These chokes have the particularity to offer an extremely low distortion rate, a very low internal resistance and very high power handling capacities. This translates into a very full, articulate bass with great density, substance and dynamics. They are used both on the bass, but also for the connection of the medium with the tweeter.
They are oriented in relation to each other to avoid unwanted radiation.
The resistors for the equalization of the tweeter level are of very high quality. They are wound and have the particularity of being surrounded by a copper tube connected to the ground of the system (they have three wires, input, output and ground and must be oriented in the direction of signal flow). This copper tube acts as a shield (Faraday cage) and eliminates all electromagnetic disturbances around the component which are evacuated by the system ground, but also acts as an excellent heat sink. Thus, the distortion rate of this resistor is particularly low. At large level differences, conventional resistors tend to get very hot, which results in distortion. With these resistors, the treble is very transparent (evacuation of the micro discharges) and extremely dynamic with a sensation of astonishing naturalness, leaving room for all the micro information essential to a really musical listening. The harmonic gradation is much more logical and devoid of “slag”, the treble is matt, fine, without persistence or undesirable granulosity effect.
As usual, all filters are made by hand, without using a printed circuit board, the components are soldered directly to each other using ROHS silver solder and are fixed with a flexible glue on forex plates that further isolate the components from vibrations.
The two cells are arranged as far as possible from the magnetic radiation of the loudspeakers and are themselves acoustically shielded with compound and foam.
All the internal wiring is done with our HP1132 cable, which has a doubled section for the midrange and bass.

The connection of the speakers is entrusted to Mundorf terminals in pure copper of very high quality and selected for their exemplary musicality. They are fixed on a bituminous aluminum plate. The connection of the cables to the passive crossover is made without soldering by means of pure copper grommets, also of Mundorf origin.

USE ADVICE:

Thanks to a very low directivity, it is not necessary to converge the two speakers to the ideal listening point, pinching them very slightly in order to make the most of the system’s phase.

The spacing will be determined experimentally. It is ideal theory around 3 m from axis to axis, but this distance can be reduced. To achieve a deep, well-built stereo image, make sure that the speakers are at least 80 cm away from the side and rear walls.

The best results in spectral balance and musicality were obtained by using our HP216B cable, the same one used for the internal connection of all system components.

The very long research and development work carried out for VOCEGRANDE has provided us with a set of innovative and particularly effective technical solutions, so it was logical that the flagship model of our range should also benefit from them.
This is how ORFÉOGRANDE was born, it is positioned above the current ORFÉOJUBILE in our range without replacing it.
Its silhouette, a visual signature of JMR models for years, is now highlighted by its two-tone finish that lightens and draws its curves with great elegance. The use of noble materials such as aluminum accentuates its sculptural aspect and it is a remarkable object in a contemporary or classic interior.

The sobriety of its design is an assumed choice, it allows to create simple and beautiful objects at the same time, anchored in their time, which will keep for a very long time a valorizing aspect with cleverly chosen proportions. Thus ORFÉOGRANDE will cross the times and the fashions without aging.

Genesis:

Taking over the work on the basis of an existing model as powerful as ORFÉOJUBILE is not an easy task.
All its infrastructure has been completely revisited, its cabinetry, its filtering, its speakers have been improved. VOCEGRANDE, with its extreme delicacy and its unique finesse of restitution, has significantly raised our standards. It was necessary to find in ORFÉOGRANDE all these qualities by adding the force and the energy of a column loudspeaker, while respecting its character and its personality so attaching.
It will have taken months and months for the research in laboratory and especially in listening, to lead to the expected result. This is why ORFÉOGRANDE is now the most successful passive loudspeaker ever made by JMR in the 55 years of its existence.

Results:

Brighter, quieter, more delicate and at the same time stronger than ever, ORFÉOGRANDE concentrates all the JMR know-how. It synthesizes the essence of the sound philosophy of JMR products, and once again, it pushes the performance limits of a loudspeaker of this size.
The sound image is truly spectacular, extending naturally and consistently beyond the system in width, height and depth and offering a scrupulous respect for the sound spaces of each recording.
The timbres are of extreme refinement and accuracy, without false light or coloration.

She plays complex music with an utterly insolent ease and never seems to struggle to reproduce the dynamics. Whether it is extreme on large orchestral formations, or subtle and perfectly nuanced on small formations or voices. The latter are carnal, but also perfectly articulated with an almost palpable presence. The diction, the articulation of each word, the breaths, the diphthongs, all that seems perfectly natural and integrated, never artificially put forward, that allows a perfect comprehension of the texts and better still of the intention and the meaning of an interpretation.

The music is expressed without constraint, with force and authority, but in a perfectly relaxed way, without any phenomenon of projection or hardness. Its precision allows an excellent readability of the phrasing and the intention of the musicians and yet one never has the feeling of deconstructing or overplaying the details. The sound message is full, fluid in the extreme, rich on all the audible spectrum and of constant density, that gets during the listening a feeling of permanent well-being that facilitates the musical emotion.

Its middle register is both rich and transparent, it depicts in a very natural way all the complex sonorities with a scrupulous respect of the harmonic gradation, essential parameter to fully identify each type of instrument. The harmonic friction of stringed instruments, the extreme complexity of the timbres of a piano, the resonance of a guitar note, everything seems more ample. The end notes last longer with a natural and very regular decay and never seem to be truncated. The superposition of the different timbres which form an expressive picture with very varied colors, provide a real auditory jubilation.

Thanks to the adoption of the polymer decoupling system of its base, the lower part of the spectrum from the low midrange to the extreme bass is sensational. Perfectly articulated and very dense, it expresses itself with an enthusiastic dynamism, giving a very frank and well controlled sensation of impact. He never overplays, yet he knows how to make himself particularly impressive when the music demands it. This decoupling principle allows the last octaves not to resonate with the floor material, which translates into a bass that is naturally positioned within the sound image and never gives the impression of crawling before it. Cleared of any parasitic vibration, it underlines, when necessary, the feeling of presence and gives the musical message a very realistic dimension and proportions. A kick drum, an organ pedal, a synthesizer pad or any other percussion instrument reaching the deepest part of the spectrum is then reproduced in a full and complete way to the extreme low end. Never does the message seem bloated or confused, on the contrary, one finds oneself detailing elements that are usually melted in the fog of these frequencies so difficult to reproduce with acuity.

ORFÉOGRANDE plays with all difficulties with agility and serenity, all musical styles find the right tonal balance and are reproduced with a scrupulous respect of their specific sonorities.

WOODWORKING:

  • Device limiting the phenomena of solidian transmission of the vibratory energy thanks to the use of materials of different density (MDF-Aluminium). A 3 mm thick aluminum sheet encloses three sides of the cabinet to better concentrate the energy towards the interior of the acoustic load.
  • Loading principle: Tuned triangular line in ¼ wave leading to a front vent located at the bottom of the cabinet. This proprietary loading principle allows us to use almost no sorbent that would slow down the air flow in the different cavities. Thus, the signal propagation speed is much faster and the group propagation time of the system is greatly improved. In order to better control the vibratory phenomena, we have lined a large part of the internal surfaces of the cabinet with bitumen and viscoelastic compound positioned in an experimental manner at strategic points.
  • Complete mechanical decoupling of the enclosure base, allowing the use of Teflon pads as interfaces with the floor (no decoupling spikes). The speaker is as if suspended. Thus, the vibratory energy is transformed into heat within the polymer and is hardly transmitted to the ground. The result is a perfectly controlled bass that integrates with the musical message in a much more natural way since it never vibrates the floor material. The other advantage is to preserve the middle part of the signal without the drying phenomena often observed when using rigid decoupling tips.

LOUDSPEAKERS :

TWEETER :

AST type tweeter (aerostriction) :
It consists of a pleated diaphragm 25 mm wide by 60 mm high, whose silicone support is covered with a very thin film of extremely light avionics-type aluminum. This diaphragm is traversed by an aluminum greek and the whole is surrounded by two neodymium bars of very strong power. Its operating principle is the same as that of the Heil or AMT transformer, but it has the particularity of using a diaphragm that is perfectly devoid of its own resonance. Contrary to a classic ribbon tweeter which pushes the air in front of it, the aerostriction tweeter pinches the air between its folds and expels it with a very high velocity, the dynamics is thus much greater (on the big gaps of level as on the very small nuances).

BOOMER/MEDIUM :

Medium/boomer 180 mm
Its cone is made of 7 layers of carbon fiber and PEEK (Polyetheretherketone). This cone receives a plasma treatment on its external surface (granular) which avoids the formation of surface standing waves. This cone combines great lightness with good rigidity, but above all excellent internal damping.
This cone is driven by a 37 mm coil on two 16 mm long layers on a ventilated fiberglass support.
The air gap has a pure copper ring to linearize the impedance of the loudspeaker at the end of the band and to reduce its distortion by improving the concentration of the magnetic flux around the coil.
Its speeder is airy and has a progressive profile to allow a movement with a constant return force whatever the amplitude of its movement.
The NBR rubber suspensions have an optimized profile in terms of their curvature in order to obtain a progressive splitting and to maximize the efficiency of the return according to the distance of displacement of the mobile equipment.
These loudspeakers are tensioned as usual, thanks to stainless steel threaded rods that come to push the breech of the speaker and are tensioned on the back wall of the cabinet. This principle brings the mechanical reference of the loudspeaker to the back of the cabinet and ensures a better distribution of mechanical stress on the front of the cabinet. It improves the transient operation of the HP by stabilizing its mechanical reference. This results in a midrange that is free of all distortions related to the micro-displacement of the speaker motor and a much faster and better damped impulse response.

FILTERING:

• The passive filter :
It has been completely redesigned with different connection frequencies and the best components currently available on the market.
As usual, I wanted to reduce the number of these components as much as possible in order to obtain a speaker easy to feed.
No resonant circuit or plug circuit. Only the components necessary for the realization of the 6/12/12 dB/octave filtering are used.
This is a 2.5 way configuration, with the two bass-midrange speakers working in tandem and in phase below 200 hz or the bass speaker is connected in 6db/octave. The top speaker is dedicated to the mid/bass and is connected at 2200 hz with the tweeter and is not filtered in the bass.
This filter consists of two separate cells, oriented and separated from each other to avoid intermodulation of components.
The equalization resistors for the tweeter are of a very high quality, they are wound and have the particularity to be surrounded by a copper tube connected to the ground of the system. (They have three wires, input, output and ground and must be oriented in the direction of signal flow) the whole is then trapped in an inert resin. This copper tube acts as a shield (Faraday cage) and eliminates all electromagnetic disturbances around the component which are evacuated by the system ground, but also acts as an excellent heat sink. Thus, the distortion rate of this resistor is particularly low. A ground braid is then connected to the terminal block of the speaker on a fifth terminal which is then connected to the ground of the domestic electrical installation. This completely drains all electrostatic and electrical charge and cleans up the signal for a more relaxing and detailed listening experience.

The silver-plated copper core has a large cross-section and is then surrounded by small cross-section strands, still in silver-plated copper.

The connection of the loudspeakers is entrusted to ETI terminals (the same as those used on VOCE Grande) which have been extensively compared and selected for their exemplary musicality. They are made of silver-plated tellurium copper of very low thickness providing an extremely low internal resistance. They are fixed on a bituminous aluminium plate

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

ORFÉOGRANDE gives off a lot of energy, which is why it is best suited to rooms of 30 m² or more. This being said, if the listening were to be done in a smaller room, it would be necessary to take care to keep a very reasonable listening level so as not to overstress the room.
A distance of 80 cm around it is recommended, this distance must apply to the side walls and especially to the back.
The distance between the axes of the enclosures should be about 3 m and can be increased to 4 m or more.
Since the directionality of the system is very low, it is not necessary to make the speakers converge completely towards the listening point. However, an angle of 5 to 15° depending on the distance will allow you to benefit even more from the very rigorous phase of the system.
ORFÉOGRANDE does not have a decoupling tip due to the design of its base. If your floor is uneven, you may need to insert adhesive felt pads under the bases to ensure that the speaker is stable.
Connecting the fifth terminal (ground): to take advantage of the grounding of the passive crossover at the level of the equalization resistors, you must connect the fifth terminal (gold) to the ground of your electrical installation (do not connect it to the ground of an amp). For this purpose, an ordinary cable (electric cable for example) will be sufficient, as no signal is carried by this terminal.
